About
the White Metal Sail Kits:
The

with
higher yards set on the caps.
All
other white metal sail set kits contain:
Bowsprit
with Jib(s) as a one piece casting
Sails
to each mast as a one piece casting

About
the Brass Sail Kits:
The
sails are 4 thou photo etched brass, engineered to 25mm
tolerance.
The separate sail parts (which are numbered on the
spur)
enables individual shaping so that the modeller decides
on
'attitude to the wind', appearance etc.
These
kits also contain white metal parts as follows:
main,
fore & mizzen masts, bowsprit and furled courses where
appropriate.
BOMB
VESSEL
These
were specialist vessels whose main armament was two mortars, usually 10ins and
13inc, which were used to lob shells into enemy fortifications. This model is
one of the Helca, a converted merchantman, which by the use of removable
bulwarks, was the first "bomb vessel" to be able to fire its mortars
horizontally as a broadside.

Signal
Flags - full process colour printed.
Flags
and codes were used in conjunction so that the meaning of signals could be
changed at intervals - particularly when codes fell into the hands of the enemy.
The
signal flags we have researched and had printed are correct for a specific point
in time. it is extreamly difficult to be precise about the meaning of particular
combinations, so none are given here.
However,
signal flags greatly enhance the model and are highly recommended for a quality
finish. They are available for the following nationalities:
FRENCH
SIGNAL FLAGS of 1793
A set of
signals 1-20 |
B |
SPANISH
SIGNAL FLAGS
A set of
signals 1-20
A grid
system with the 20 across the top and down the left side, gave 400
combinations for the signal code. |

B |
AMERICAN
SIGNAL FLAGS

Using
combinations of these flags in different positions on the vessel, there
were up to 1228 different signals. |
