The figures used as illustrations are production castings with a black wash applied to enhance the detail and bring out the highlights. Many of the figure codes contain a variety of figures. These variations can be in the form of different poses, or may be helmet, head, weapon or shield variants. Those codes that come with variations are packed at random. Many of the figures come with separate weapons, especially shields, spears and javelins. A spot of superglue is all that is required to fix the weapons to the figure. The result is a greater variety of poses and makes the painting of the figure easier prior to assembly. All of the artillery, chariot, elephant and equipment sets require assembly using the previously mentioned adhesive. Each figure type has a code number and a description apart from the illustration. If you purchase a Ready Made Army or a DBA Army, you save yourself some money. These discounted items are great for starting a new period of interest or fielding larger armies at a reasonable cost.
